Prestigious Illustrator Celebrates 2013 USPS Kwanzaa Stamp Commission in Georgia
Decatur, GA – December 10, 2013 – Amidst the decline of bookstores across the globe, award winning children’s book illustrator R. Gregory Christie provides his local community with access to quality and affordable art classes and books through his store GAS-ART GIFTS.
“G.A.S.” is an acronym meaning Gregarious Art Statements, and Christie’s store specializes in the study of tangible art forms. Located in Decatur, Georgia’s North DeKalb Mall, GAS-ART GIFTS offers classes including bookbinding, drawing, painting and sewing.
Saturday, December 21, 2013, will be the store’s holiday celebration. The party will be complete with FREE holiday art projects, storytelling, music, food and drinks. Baked goods from Comfort Gourmet and fresh Mexican cuisine from Nacho Mamas will be provided.
Christie, this year’s creator for the United States Post Office Kwanzaa stamp, will be signing free postcards of the stamp to commemorate the prestigious commission. The store will also hold a fund drive for the House of Hope Orphanage in Port au Prince, Haiti.
GAS-ART GIFTS’s holiday party will be from 3PM until 8PM, Saturday, December 21. More classes and services are expected to be offered in the coming new year.
